Being Brooklyn wedding photographers does have its perks! We have been able to take such clean and polished pictures against the effortlessly cool backdrop that is Brooklyn. We have met with couples from Dumbo to Greenpoint to capture their Engagement sessions in a modern and stylish way. Here is a list of our top 5 neighborhoods in Brooklyn for engagement sessions.
1 – Greenpoint
I could not start this list with a neighborhood other than Greenpoint haha. This is the neighborhood that Joe and I met and started dating in! With its historic tree canopied streets and the waterfront, Greenpoint offers a homey feel to any photoshoot with a touch of NYC skyline.
2 – Dumbo
Dumbo on its own merit is a beautiful neighborhood, but with its proximity to the East River which gives the backdrop of Manhattan in a larger than life way. That Manhattan view for couple sessions is always a go-to!
3 – Williamsburg & Bushwick
We love shooting in these two areas! Both of these neighborhoods have a modern and artsy vibe to them that will shine through via their murals and cool buildings. Sometimes you can encounter industrial buildings as well and those make such a good background!
4 – Cobble hill/ Carol Gardens/ Brooklyn Heights
These three neighborhoods are in close proximity to each other and are all an incredible place to take pictures because of their cobble stone streets and its pre-war buildings. You could sit on a stoop and cuddle or grab a coffee on a stroll.Â
5 – Coney Island
A beach town that has an amazing view of the theme park of the same name. Even though this area is a few miles form manhattan, some of our favorite engagement sessions were done here, and they feel like they are in a different world altogether.
Bonus! In their own neighborhood!
In our initial chats with our clients we try to find a place that fits them and their story in order to bring out the best in them. We love to shoot in the neighborhood that they live in currently or the one that they met in to show something that is so personal to them as a couple. This is an amazing way to help people who may not be so comfortable in front of the camera open up and be true to themselves!
